Welcome to the 12th of December
What could you consider doing today for Development December?
Focus on improving your technical writing skills. Clear technical writing is a force multiplier: your designs, sequences, reports and emails become easier to trust and act on.
Quick win (5 minutes):
Before you send your next technical email or note today, pause and outline three bullet points first: the context, the key finding, and the action required. Then turn those bullets into three or four short sentences and check that someone unfamiliar with the job would still understand what needs to happen.
More time to invest? (60 minutes):
Pick an upcoming piece of technical writing you know you will need soon – for example a sequence of operation for a new project, a commissioning report, or a client status update. Draft a simple, reusable template for it: headings, a one-paragraph introduction, clear sections for observations, data and recommendations, and a concise “so what / next steps” close. Save this as your standard template and, if appropriate, share it with your team.
