Send one tailored LinkedIn connection request to someone relevant to your niche – a controls engineer, BMS manager, energy consultant or MSI – with a short, specific note.

More time to invest? (60 minutes):

Identify three to five people you would like in your network (alumni, ex-colleagues, clients, vendors) and send tailored connection requests to each. Add a short note that references something specific you have seen them do or post and, where appropriate, suggest a quick call in the New Year.
